The City of Corcoran has taken action to be named the successor agency to the Corcoran Redevelopment Agency.

The City of Corcoran invites interested citizens to apply for appointment to the Planning Commission.  An unscheduled vacancy has occurred for a term due to expire on December 31, 2014.  If you are interested in Civic Service, there is a growing need for volunteers in city government.

The Planning Commission consists of seven citizens who are appointed by the City Council for a four year term.  The Planning Commission regularly meets on the second Monday of the month and advises the Council on land use matters including zoning issues, use permits, variances, and site plans.  The commission reviews and makes recommendations regarding development plans submitted by the City's Planning Department and is responsible for General Plan and specific plan reviews.

In order to be eligible for appointment to any board or commission, a person must be a resident of the City.  For consideration by the City Council, all persons whose particular strengths, background, experience, perspective and talents might contribute significantly to efficient and representative policy development and administration in the City of Corcoran are encouraged to apply.  The City Council will make the appointment at the February 6, 2012 Council meeting.
