The following holidays are recognized as municipal holidays for pay purposes and all regular and probationary employees shall have these days off except as otherwise stated in the current MOU's:

Labor Day Monday, September 3
Veteran's Day Monday, November 12
Thanksgiving Day Thursday, November 22
Day after Thanksgiving Day Friday, November 23
Christmas Eve Monday, December 24
Christmas Day Tuesday, December 25
Every day appointed by the President of the United States or Governor of the State for a public fast, thanksgiving or holiday when approved by the City Council.
When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be deemed to be the holiday in lieu of the day named.
When a holiday falls on Sundays, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday in lieu of the day named.
Employees in the following positions do not observe municipal holidays, but receive in-liue compensation: Clerk/Dispatcher, Senior Clerk/Dispatcher, CSO/Animal Control, Police Corporal, Police Officer I, Police Officer II, and Police Sergeant.
